Thankfully, Jean Valjean will not be popping out of your screen next year. According to the BBC, Tom Hooper’s adaptation of ‘Les Miseralbes’ won’t be in 3D. “I can definitely announce it’s good old-fashioned 2D … I slightly worry with 3D that some people will physically struggle with it. If you have a certain type of eyesight it can be more demanding than watching a normal movie,” said the director. (Don’t fret period film fans, there’s always Baz Lurhman’s 3D ‘Great Gatsby,’ out next Christmas.)

Hooper, who won an Oscar for directing ‘The King’s Speech,’ has already lined up Anne Hathaway, Russell Crowe and Hugh Jackman for ‘Les Mis.’ It’s currently scheduled for a December 2012 release date.
